The Stomach :

This is the model of the human Stomach. It is the most dilated portion in the alimentary canal. It lies in the left Hypochondrium, the epigastrium and the Umbilical regions of the abdomen. It is roughly “J” shaped when it is empty .

It has :

• Fundus,
• Body
• Pyloric parts.

Pyloric part has two part:    

• 1) Pyloric Antrum
• 2) Pyloric Canal

It has two Curvature :            

• 1) Greater Curvature
• 2) Laser Curvature

It has two Surface :                 

• 1) Anterior Superior Surface
• 2) Posterior Inferior Surface

Posterior Inferior Surface forms stomach bed.

It has two opening :     

• 1) Cardiac Opening
• 2) Pyloric Opening

It has Four Layers :       

• 1) Mucosa
• 2) Submucosa
• 3) Muscularis externa
• 4) Serosa
